Book of Prayers
The Society of Urban Monks Book of Prayers is a growing volume of prayers that consists of contemplative devotions that are shared to help Urban Monks advance solutions to solve social struggles with others in the communities, cities, regions, and countries in which they live, work, worship, recreate, socialize, and/or serve.
These prayers not only express a commitment to encounter, engage, and help end social wrongs but are also for guidance while working with others to influence, implement, and innovate solutions to right social wrongs.
You are encouraged
to share a prayer that you feel helped you
and would help Urban Monks further develop their efforts
to advance solutions to solve social struggles with others.

Nurturing a private relationship with God
Some of the prayers in this book focus on nurturing a private relationship with God. To "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind;” (Luke 10.27a) is the first step to help right social wrongs.
Cultivating a public relationship with God and others
Some of the prayers in this book focus on cultivating a public relationship with God and others. To “Love your neighbor as yourself” (Luke 10.27b) is a necessary second step to help right social wrongs.
Sharing a Prayer
Share a Prayer that you shaped and pray, or a Prayer that someone else shaped and prayed or prays, that helped or helps you, or inspired or inspires you, to advance solutions to solve social struggles with others.
